3. What this site is

chat-now.uk is the English-language front door to ChatNow, an online chat service operated at chatnow.fr. This site contains information pages and a form to join the chat. It has no accounts, no database and no user content of its own: everything that happens once you have joined the chat happens on chatnow.fr, under its own Terms of use and Privacy policy.

4. Cookies

This site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts, no analytics and no advertising. There is nothing to consent to here.

Once you join the chat you are on chatnow.fr, which uses the cookies it needs to run the service (session, device identifier) and describes them in its own privacy policy.

5. Privacy: what leaves your browser

Nothing you type on this site is stored by chat-now.uk. Two things are sent to chatnow.fr:

• While you type your city, your browser asks chatnow.fr for matching city names. That request carries the text you have typed and your IP address, and no cookie. It is used only to display suggestions.
• When you press “Join the chat”, the form sends your username, gender, age and city to chatnow.fr, which creates your guest account there. From that point on, chatnow.fr's privacy policy applies.

The “Live” figure shown on the home page is read from chatnow.fr as a single anonymous number; that request carries no cookie and identifies nobody.

To exercise your rights over the personal data held by ChatNow (access, rectification, erasure, portability), write to contact@chatnow.fr.

6. Adults only

ChatNow is reserved for people aged 18 and over. French law may require an age check on chatnow.fr; the check is carried out by an independent provider under a double-anonymity scheme: the provider does not know which site you are visiting, and ChatNow receives only a yes-or-no answer.
