- Yes. ChatNow is 100% free: no subscription, no hidden fees. You can chat, send private messages, share photos and use the webcam without paying anything. An optional premium plan exists for members who want extra perks; nothing about the chat itself is locked behind it.
- Do I need an account to use the chat?
- No. Pick a username, your age and your city and you are in within seconds. You can also create a free account if you want to keep your username and find your contacts again.
- Is the chat anonymous?
- Yes. Guests are never asked for an email address or a real name, and nothing personal is kept about them. Your privacy is fully respected.
- Does ChatNow work on mobile?
- Yes. ChatNow runs in any browser on a phone, tablet or computer. The interface is designed for touch screens and adapts to your device. There is no app to install.
- How does the webcam work?
- You can turn on your webcam directly in a chat room or in a private conversation by clicking the webcam icon. Other participants see you live. The webcam needs a recent browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge.
- Is the chat moderated?
- Yes. A team of moderators and automated tools make sure the rules are respected. Abusive behaviour such as insults, spam or harassment is dealt with quickly. You can report a user or a message at any time. See the house rules.
- Which room do I land in from the UK or Ireland?
- When you join from chat-now.uk you land straight in the English-speakers room. From there you can browse and join any other room.
- Is ChatNow available in other languages?
- Yes. ChatNow is run from France and is also available in French at chatnow.fr, with rooms for other languages. Your language follows you once you are connected.
