Chatzy is a free chat service where you create a room of your own and invite the people you want, and Chatzy rooms stay unlisted unless someone links to them. If you are after a Chatzy alternative where the rooms are already there, ChatNow is a free chat with no sign-up for adults aged 18 and over. You join anonymously, as a guest, with a username and no email address.

Further down: Chatzy as its own pages describe it, the main difference between its rooms and ours, a comparison checked on 27 October 2026, and the way in.

Chatzy in short: rooms you create and share

Chatzy calls itself "a free private chat service" for talking with people you already know. From its front page you start a Quick Chat: you type your name and a subject, and you can add email addresses to invite. Its FAQ states "No registration is required", and signing up is optional.

A Virtual Room goes further, with a room password, a choice of who may enter, and an administrator who can appoint moderators. Chatzy rooms are unlisted by default: they can be found only through a link someone has posted, or through the "Find More Rooms" page, which searches Google.

Free rooms have limits. A free room takes 10 visitors who do not subscribe, and the FAQ says plainly that "Private messages are a premium feature". It adds that "Chatzy does not support Web cams".

Premium is sold for one user or for one room. According to the Terms of Use, subscriptions renew automatically and purchases are final.

On moderation, the Terms of Use say that "Chatzy does not monitor the chatrooms". Each room is run by the person who created it, with the moderators that person appoints.

Other products use the same name. Everything on this page comes from chatzy.com, which also answers at chatzy.org, and its pages are listed under Sources.

Chatzy rooms and ChatNow rooms: the real difference

On Chatzy, the room comes first: you make it, name it and send the link, and the conversation is between the people you invited. On ChatNow, the rooms already exist and are open to everyone who joins; you do not create, name or lock any of them.

What takes the place of a private room on ChatNow:

  • Private messages, free. Click a username to write to that person alone. Guests can do it too, with text and voice notes.
  • A private webcam, by invitation. With a free account you can invite another account holder to a private webcam, and they choose "Accept" or "Decline".
  • A fixed list of rooms. Every room is in "Rooms", so there is no address to keep and nothing to search for.
  • Moderators of the site itself. ChatNow moderators are in the rooms every day, and an AI classifier checks text after sending.

What you give up: no room of your own, no room password and no invitations by email. If those are what you need, Chatzy offers them and ChatNow does not. Our UKChat alternative page makes the same point, since UKChat users can open rooms too.

How to get into a room from here

  1. Fill in the form at the top: choose a username (3 to 20 characters), then give your gender (Man, Woman, Trans, CD or Couple), your age (18 or over) and your town, which you pick from the suggestions as you type. The list covers towns in the UK and in Ireland.
  2. Press "Go to the rooms, free, no sign-up": chatnow.fr opens with your details already in; confirm them and you are in "English speakers".
  3. Change room whenever you like, from "Rooms".

There is no room address to keep and nothing to install, and your username holds until you leave.

The rooms you find on ChatNow

From this page you arrive in "English speakers", which ChatNow describes as the room for English speakers, wherever they live. English is required there: a message in another language is normally removed just after sending, with the notice "This room is English only."

"Welcome" is the other general room, alongside rooms in German, Spanish and Italian. The general rooms are for ordinary conversation, never for sexual talk.

The themed rooms, listed under "Adult rooms", are shared by every country, so their conversations are often in French.

What a guest can do, and what an account adds

A guest can start straight away; a free account adds the rest:

FeatureGuestFree account
Writing in roomsFrom a UK or Irish connectionFrom any country
Private messagesText and voice notesText, voice notes, photos and videos
WebcamWatch room webcamsBroadcast yours with sound; private webcam
UsernameFor this visit onlyKept from one visit to the next
"Contact filters"NoChoose who may write to you

For the free account you give an email address, a password, your date of birth and your gender, or you use Google.

Premium is a paid option you never need in order to chat. It never renews automatically and changes nothing in moderation or in the way reports are handled.

Your profile, your logs and what is deleted

Others see your username, gender, age and town, with a rough distance between towns worked out without GPS. The email address of an account is never shown.

Chatzy shows part of your IP address when you enter a room or change name, in the form "John from x.x.x.123", and keeps its action logs for at least 6 months. On ChatNow, connection logs (IP address, times, device identifier) are kept for 12 months, and the IP address is never shown to other users.

  • Whatever a guest posts, voice notes included, is deleted 24 hours after that guest has left.
  • Text is checked by an AI classifier after sending, and moderators review reported content, private messages included.
  • Webcams are never recorded by ChatNow, although a viewer can capture their own screen.
  • Whatever you write can be copied by the person reading it.

The full list of periods is in the retention table.

Rules, "Report", "Block" and the moderators

ChatNow is for adults aged 18 and over only, and you give your age when you join. In every room and in private, the Community Rules put consent first, forbid selling and asking for money, and never allow anything that involves a minor. A first private message must not be sexual unless the other person invited it.

  • "Block" cuts someone off from you immediately.
  • "Report" sits on every message and profile, and safety@chatnow.fr works without an account. ChatNow settles a standard report within 7 days.
  • Moderators are present in the rooms daily, with a "Mod" badge beside their username.
  • Money and photos: never pay anyone, and stop answering someone who insists on pictures or wants to move you to another app.

ChatNow does not create profiles or run bots of its own. Accounts faked by others do turn up, and they are removed after a report.

The rules page lists what is never allowed, and the report page explains every way to report.

Chatzy alternative: frequently asked questions

Is ChatNow connected to Chatzy?
No. Chatzy and ChatNow are unrelated: ChatNow belongs to Skyline Online LLC and is a free chat built around rooms that are already open.
Can I create my own room, as on Chatzy?
No. ChatNow has a fixed list of rooms, with no room passwords and no invitations. To talk to one person alone, send a private message.
Do I need an email address to join?
No. As a guest you give a username, gender, age and town, and nothing else. A free account is optional, as is Premium, which never renews automatically.
Are private messages free on ChatNow?

ChatNow moderators are in the rooms every day, an AI classifier checks text after it is sent, and every message and profile has a "Report" button.
What language is spoken in the rooms?
Yes, in "English speakers", where this page takes you and where English is required. The themed rooms are shared with other countries, and much of their chat is in French.
