321Chat (often typed as 321 Chat) is a free chat site with themed rooms, where you can talk as a guest but need a registered account before sending a private message. If you want a 321Chat alternative where a guest can write to someone in private from the first minute, ChatNow is a free chat with no sign-up for adults aged 18 and over. There is no email to give: you join anonymously, as a guest, under a username of your choice.

321Chat in brief, from its own pages
321Chat says it was established in 2002. It offers rooms grouped by interest and by community, plus a message board, all opened in a browser. Its FAQ puts the way in simply: "Walk in as a guest and start talking".
A guest talks in the rooms, and that is where it stops. "Private messages need a registered account", the FAQ explains, and the same goes for posting a picture. Registering is free, and the inbox then starts closed: "Registered and VIP accounts start on friends only", so a guest cannot reach you until you change the setting.
Paying is optional. The FAQ lists "a VIP membership at $15 once" and gold packs from $10, and the Terms of Use add that all sales are final.
VIP is what unlocks voice messages, temporary rooms of your own and the earlier messages of a room; without it, says the FAQ, "the room starts for you at the moment you join it".
On content, its rules are plain: "Everything you share must suit a general audience", with no explicit material in any room. They also state that "Chats are mainly in English", apart from its Spanish and Asian rooms.
The Terms of Use, last updated on 19 September 2026, say content may be kept "for as long as we consider necessary". On moderation, the front page says: "Every room is moderated with an even hand".

What changes when you move from 321Chat to ChatNow
The main change is what a guest may do. On 321Chat a guest stays in the rooms; on ChatNow a guest can also write to one person alone. What ChatNow gives you without paying:
- Private messages as a guest. Click a username and write to that person alone, in text or with voice notes. Anyone with an account can refuse guests by turning off "Allow guests".
- The room so far. When you enter a room, its latest messages are already on screen, and you can scroll further back.
- One place for adults. ChatNow is for adults (18+) only; the general rooms stay non-sexual, and the themed rooms have a section of their own.
What you give up: you cannot create a room, and the themed rooms are shared with other countries, so they are often in French. 321Chat VIP members can open temporary rooms, and 321Chat rooms are mostly in English. From this form to a room in three steps
- Use the form at the top: type a username between 3 and 20 characters long, select your gender (Man, Woman, Trans, CD or Couple), enter your age (18 or over) and start typing your town to pick it from the list. Towns across the UK and Ireland are in it.
- Press "Start talking free, no sign-up": chatnow.fr opens with what you entered; check it, confirm, and "English speakers" opens.
- Change room whenever you want, using "Rooms".
Nothing to install, no room address to remember, and the username stays yours until you leave.
Where you land, and the other rooms
This page leads to "English speakers", the ChatNow room for people who write in English, wherever they live. English is required there: a message in another language is normally taken down a moment after it is sent, with the notice "This room is English only."
"Welcome" is a second general room, and there are rooms in German, Spanish and Italian too. The general rooms are for everyday conversation and never for sexual talk.
The themed rooms sit under "Adult rooms". They are open to every country, which is why their conversations are often in French.
Guest or account: who can do what
A guest can start at once, and a free account adds the rest:

The free account asks for an email address, a password, your date of birth and your gender, or you can sign in with Google.
Premium is a paid extra that nobody needs in order to chat. It never renews automatically and has no effect on moderation or on how reports are dealt with.
What others can see, and how long things last
Other people see your username, gender, age and town, plus an approximate distance between towns, calculated without GPS. The email address of an account stays hidden.
- Guest posts, voice notes among them, are erased 24 hours after the guest has gone.
- Connection logs (IP address, times, device identifier) are kept for 12 months, and other users never see your IP address.
- Text goes through an AI classifier after it is sent, and moderators look at reported content, private messages included.
- Webcams are not recorded by ChatNow, but anyone watching could capture their own screen.
- Anything you write can be copied by whoever reads it.

Rules, "Report" and "Block" on ChatNow
Only adults (18+) may use ChatNow, and each person gives their age on joining. The Community Rules apply in every room and in private: consent comes first, selling and asking for money are banned, and anything involving a minor is never allowed. A first private message must not be sexual unless the other person has invited it.
- "Block" stops someone from reaching you, straight away.
- "Report" is on every message and profile, and safety@chatnow.fr can be used without an account. A standard report is dealt with within 7 days.
- Moderators come into the rooms every day and carry a "Mod" badge next to their username.
- Money and pictures: never send money, and stop replying to anyone who keeps asking for photos or wants to take the talk elsewhere.
ChatNow neither runs bots nor creates profiles of its own. Fake accounts made by others do appear, and they are removed once reported.

- Is ChatNow part of 321Chat?
- No. ChatNow has no link with 321Chat: it belongs to Skyline Online LLC and is a free chat for adults aged 18 and over.
- Can I send a private message without an account?
- Yes. A guest can write in private, in text or with voice notes, unless the other person has turned off "Allow guests". Photos and videos in private need a free account.
- Do I have to pay anything?
- No. Chatting costs nothing, as a guest or with a free account. Premium is an extra you may take or leave, and it never renews by itself.
- Can users create rooms on ChatNow?
