In short

ChatNow is a free, real-time chat service for adults, operated by Skyline Online LLC. There is no feed, no algorithm deciding what you see and no sale of your data. Everyone passes an independent age check before entering, human moderators are present every day, and every moderation decision can be appealed. ChatNow is regulated by Ofcom under the Online Safety Act 2023 and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. This page says who we are, how we make money and how you can check what we say.

1. Who is behind ChatNow

ChatNow is owned and operated by Skyline Online LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of New Mexico, United States of America, with its registered office at 1209 Mountain Road Place NE, Ste N, Albuquerque, NM 87110, USA. ChatNow is a trading name of that company, not a separate entity. The full identity block, our UK representative and our registrations are on the Company information & legal notice page.

The people responsible for the service, by role:

  • Managing Member of Skyline Online LLC — the company's legal representative, who directs the service and carries overall responsibility for its compliance.
  • Gérald A., Head of Trust & Safety — the named individual accountable for our illegal-content, reporting and complaints duties under Ofcom's Codes of Practice (measures ICU A2 and PCU A2). The Head of Trust & Safety leads moderation, reporting, appeals and liaison with the police and regulators, and can be reached at safety@chatnow.fr.
  • Moderators and administrators — a team of human moderators present in the rooms every day, with on-call cover 24 hours a day for intimate-image and child-safety reports. They work to written moderation guidelines; every decision they take is logged, notified to the person concerned with reasons, and open to appeal by a different human reviewer.

We publish roles and the accountable person rather than photographs or biographies of individual moderators, for their safety.

2. What ChatNow is, and is not

ChatNow is a place for live conversation between adults. It offers public chat rooms (including an English-speakers room and themed rooms, some of which are set aside for adult conversation between consenting adults), private messages, photo sharing, voice notes, live webcam in rooms and in private conversations, profiles with an optional bio and a gallery of up to 10 photos, a friends list, block and mute controls, and a report button on every message and every profile. You can enter as a guest (a username, gender, age and city; no email, no password) or create a registered account.

ChatNow is not a social network. There is no feed or timeline, no algorithmic ranking or recommendation: messages appear in the order they are sent, to the people in the room or conversation, and nothing is optimised for engagement. We do not sell personal data, we do not record or store webcam or voice streams, and guest messages and media are deleted 24 hours after the guest leaves.

3. How ChatNow makes money

  • The service is free. Rooms, private messages, media, webcam and every safety feature are available without payment.
  • ChatNow Premium is an optional paid add-on sold by Skyline Online LLC (it appears on bank statements as "SKYLINE-ONLINE"). It does not change how moderation or safety features work for anyone. Card data is handled solely by a PCI-DSS certified payment processor; ChatNow never sees card numbers. The purchase terms are a short section of the Terms of Service.
  • Advertising is consent-based. Third-party advertising partners may set cookies only after you consent in the cookie preference centre, where the partners are listed; advertising cookies are off by default. Chat content and the sensitive fields on your profile are never used or shared for advertising. See the Cookie Policy.

4. Our editorial and safety principles

  • Adults only. ChatNow is for people aged 18 and over. Sexual conversation between consenting adults is permitted only in the rooms set aside for it; content that is illegal in the United Kingdom is never permitted anywhere.
  • Age assurance for everyone. Before any room, private message, image or webcam is accessible, every visitor, guest or member, completes a highly effective age check run by the independent provider AgeVerif. We receive only a yes/no result, never a document, photograph or estimate. Tick-boxes and warnings are never treated as age assurance. See the Age Assurance Policy.
  • Human moderation, assisted by tools. Moderators are present daily. Message text is analysed asynchronously by an AI classifier for illegal content and rule breaches, uploaded images are hash-matched against known child sexual abuse material and against StopNCII.org hashes, and profile bios are reviewed before they go live. No permanent ban is applied on a purely automated basis without human review. Intimate images shared without consent are removed within 48 hours of a valid report. See Online Safety at ChatNow.
  • Transparency. Every moderation decision is notified with the reason, the rule or law relied on, whether automation was involved and how to appeal. Our legal documents are dated and versioned, and we publish a Transparency Report.

5. How we are regulated and how to verify us

  • Ofcom. ChatNow is a regulated user-to-user service under Part 3 of the Online Safety Act 2023 and is supervised by Ofcom. Ofcom does not approve or certify services and we make no such claim; what we do claim is set out, measure by measure, in Online Safety at ChatNow.
  • Information Commissioner's Office. Skyline Online LLC is the controller of your personal data and is registered with the ICO under number [[ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER]]. Check the entry yourself in the ICO public register.
  • Company register. Skyline Online LLC can be found by name in the business register of the New Mexico Secretary of State.
  • National Crime Agency. As section 66 of the Online Safety Act 2023 requires, detected child sexual exploitation and abuse content is reported to the National Crime Agency through its CSEA Industry Reporting Portal.

We do not display trust badges or seals. The checks above, and the documents linked in section 8, are the verification.
